Dear Colleagues!
Traditionally, the editorial board and the editorial staff of Polytrauma journal present their union of like-minded men – leading experts in different aspects of polytrauma. We see the constant support and demand from the side of the whole medical society of our country that confirms the importance of our strategy in terms of publishing of the journal which is based on the modern principles of evidence-based medicine and projection into the future. Principally, it is improvement in knowledge, experience exchange, implementation of new technologies – all things promoting the health improvement.
For this issue we have selected the most significant and actual articles, clinical cases and science-practical materials.
So, the problems of anesthesiology and critical care medicine are discussed widely today. The authors of one of the studies research the influence of the structure and characteristics of the influence of multiple organ dysfunction on polytrauma outcome. Another article estimates the diagnostic potential of nutritive status data in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome in realization of various schemes of nutritive support. The great amount of readers will show their interest towards the experience in use of levobupivacaine for spinal anesthesia in amputation of the lower extremity in older patients with diseases of peripheral arteries and critical ischemia.
One of the articles from the section “Clinical aspects of neurosurgery” reviews the risk factors of formation of surgically significant delayed traumatic intracranial hematomas in associated injury. Another article estimates the surgical management of compression radicular syndromes of lumbar osteochondrosis and its influence on postural regulation.
Traumatologists generalize the clinical materials of treatment of proximal humeral fractures with the intramedullary nail with additional soft tissue stabilization of tubercles.
Special attention is given to description of a clinical case of emergency medical care for one-year child with polytrauma.
Also the problems of rehabilitation after long bone osteosynthesis and surgical treatment of femoral bone fractures have been reviewed in this issue.
An experimental study describes the results of testing the new aseptic abdominal dressing for protection of moisture of eventrated organs in opened abdominal injury.
A review presents the perspectives of development of techniques for restoration of extensive nerve defects with use of conduits.
We hope that each reader will be able to estimate the intensity of search and actuality of the studied directions and will find some new and interesting things for his or her daily work.
The editorial board of Polytrauma journal congratulates all colleagues on Medical Worker’s Day and expresses gratitude for great care for health and life of our patients, wishes good health, happiness, optimism, great achievements and success in all fields.
